Winter Construction Guide

How S.Hines, Inc. keeps framing, roofing, and interior finishing active through the dark winter months.

Framing in Sub-Zero Weather

Wood framing can proceed in freezing conditions if crews brush snow off plates. Adhesives and sealants must be stored in warmed spaces to cure correctly.

Heating and Enclosing the Structure

Once framing is complete and wrapped, we install temporary doors and run space heaters. This allows concrete crawlspaces to cure and drywall finishes to dry evenly.

Concrete Pours & Ground Thawing

Pouring concrete in winter requires ground-thawing blankets and glycol lines. Concrete must be mixed with warm water and covered with thermal blankets to cure safely.
